Fast food giant McDonald's has come under fire after making a permanent change to its menu.
Yesterday (January 5), the chain added a new burger to all UK stores - which will be here to stay.
And while many were delighted by the arrival of the McPlant burger, some were very unhappy with the Vegan-friendly addition.
The fast food retailer announced the news on Facebook, where it wrote: "It’s official, McPlant is here."

But it wasn't long before it all started to kick off in the comments, where people were getting annoyed about something the are well within their rights not to order.
Gary Nicholson slammed: "Don’t understand this one bit!!! Why, just why???
"Great you want to be vegan/ veggie or whatever. So you're all about saving the planet and saving animals? Why not just eat vegetables as they come?
"Why go to all the expense and trouble to disguise vegetables into something you are totally against?"
Jonathan Patchett added: "May as well just pull up on the road side get out onto the verge and start eating the grass."
Daniel Rose asked: "Why just WHY? People don't go to McDonald's for this healthy vegetarian/vegan s**t they want a proper beef burger or the McRib so give it to them!"
Many gluten-free people also fired shots at McDonald's - pointing out that they don't offer GF choices in store.
They were also quick to point out that being vegan is a choice, while being coeliac isn't.
Dave Hull fumed: "Mc rubbish we’re is the Mc genuine dietary requirements?... now how’s about catering for people with genuine dietary needs?"
Fiona Holden said: "Maybe you could introduce a gluten free option! This isn’t a choice, like being vegan, yet always seems to be forgotten.
"Fed up hearing about vegan options!"
Jade Claire Big chimed in: "What about starting to cater for gluten free options? Its wonderful seeing vegan/vegetarian options in fast food but what about people with coeliac? Who physically cannot eat gluten containing products. Please consider these people in your next product launch."
Brenda Skerratt: "How about helping people who are gluten free, being celiac isn’t a choice but these people would still like to enjoy a McDonald’s."
Elsewhere on Twitter, people continued to point out the lack of gluten-free products at McDonald's.
Hundreds of thousands of people in the UK suffer from coeliac disease, but McDonald's does not offer gluten-free buns.
@boyafraid1986 tweeted: "Any chance you’ll have gluten free burger buns at some point in the future, speaking as someone who has coeliac disease my choices at McDonald’s are severely limited."
@NeilHalton said: "Weird they can find room to cook this separately but still can't do gluten free like McDonald's in Europe."
@StevenKBeattie slammed: "You can come up with vegan/plant burger (a choice) but not something for a coeliac (a medical condition)… thanks … ridiculous. A lifestyle choice should not overtake a lifelong condition! Worlds gone nuts."
The burger did, however, have plenty of fans, with many shoppers calling it 'heaven', 'delicious' and 'better than meat options'.
A McDonald's spokesperson said: "We’re so pleased that our McPlant is now officially ‘everywhere’ and available for more of our customers to taste and enjoy.
"We saw a remarkable response to the trial period back in October and now McPlant is on the high-street, in retail parks and service stations all over the UK and Ireland so all of our customers will be able to try it.
"We’re proud to once again be offering our customers more great-tasting options from McDonald’s. It’s our same iconic taste – but plant-based.”
