One of the biggest newspaper chains in the US, McClatchy Company, is to cut its workforce by 10% (around 1,400 people) after having previously eliminated about 2,000 jobs over 18 months. California-based McClatchy, which publishes 30 daily papers plus dozens of weeklies across the States, announced that in the first five months of the year its revenue dropped 14.2% compared to the same period last year.
