MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association will felicitate Rohit Sharma for becoming the Team India captain in all the three formats of the game. After being made India's white-ball captain in November last year, Rohit was last week named by chief selector Chetan Sharma as India's new Test skipper.
"In today’s Apex Council meeting, a decision was passed to felicitate Rohit Sharma for becoming captain of all the three formats of the game. All the current India players from Mumbai like Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer, along with Sarfaraz Khan (for representing India A last year against South Africa A) will be felicitated too. The MCA will award Mumbai's Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was a part of the India Under-19 team which won the U-19 World Cup in the West Indies, with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh rupees and a memento. The function will be held before the IPL," a source in the MCA told TOI on Thursday.
