MUMBAI: An emergent meeting of Mumbai Cricket Association's Apex Council, regarding finalizing the date of the forthcoming elections of the association, will take place on Tuesday.
"As advised by the Hon'ble president (Vijay Patil), an emergent meeting of the Apex Council will be held on Tuesday, 23rd August at 5pm at the office of the association to discuss the following agenda: You are requested to attend the same. Agenda: To apprise the members about holding the forthcoming elections of the association," MCA secretary Sanjay Naik communicated to the members on Saturday.
Patil, Naik and the other office-bearers and Apex Council members were elected on October 4, 2019. As per the MCA constitution: "The term of office of an office-bearer of the association shall be 3 years. The Annual General Meeting of the General Body shall be held every year, not later than 30th September at such place and time as the president may fix. Elections and nominations to the Apex Council shall take place every 3 years at the Annual General Meeting."
