MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association on Monday, after a meeting of its Apex Council, sent the proposed ticket rates for the five matches-including the semi-final on November 15-that it is hosting at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in the 2023 ODI World Cup to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
"These proposed ticket rates will now be sent back to the MCA after approval by the BCCI and the International Cricket Council," a source told TOI. Should India qualify for the semifinals, the Wankhede Stadium will host the coveted match.
As per the rates proposed by the MCA, the ticket prices for the hospitality boxes for the World Cup semifinal will cost Rs 45,000 reach. A ticket at the hospitality seats on Level 2 in the Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar Stands will cost Rs 40,000 for the last four clash. On level 1 of these stands, a ticket will cost Rs 5,000, while for Level 3, a ticket will cost Rs 4,000 (all proposed ticket rates).
For the Vithal Divecha Pavilion and the Vijay Merchant Stand Level 2, a World Cup semi-final ticket could cost Rs 5,000. A ticket for the Sunil Gavaskar Stand level 1 may cost Rs 2,500, while for the level 2 of that stand, it may cost Rs 4,500.
"The MCA will provide tickets at 50% cost to its member clubs," a source said.
Apart from the semifinal, the Wankhede will host four other 2023 World Cup games-India versus Sri Lanka on November 2, England vs South Africa on October 21, South Africa vs Bangladesh on October 24 and Australia versus Afghanistan on November 7.
