A Birmingham tech firm is under new management following a buyout by its leadership team.
Erdington-based Electronic Business Systems has been taken over by four of its directors for an undisclosed sum, allowing its previous owner Jason Tullah to exit the business in order to pursue new ventures.
The new-look leadership team comprises sales director Richard Bates, client services director Sandy Robinson, operations director Simon Pritchard and technical director Dan Price.
Electronic Business Systems has been in operation since 1979 when it was originally established to sell printers and typewriters since when it has evolved into a full-service IT support provider.
The company specialises in hardware, network infrastructure, cloud services, Sage business management and bespoke solutions.
It said it now planned to add five new staff to the team over the next 18 months while investing in its sales and marketing operations to grow a stronger presence throughout the region.
Mr Bates said: "It was a logical step for us to buy the business.
"We've each been with the company for many years, have built great relationships with our customers and we all felt very strongly about keeping our whole team together which might not have happened if we'd have been bought out by a larger organisation.
"Our previous managing director was proud to be based in Birmingham and had always focused on supporting other local businesses which is something we're very keen to continue.
"It's been a seamless transition for our clients and staff and we're thrilled to be carrying the torch for the business as it enters the next phase of its development."
