'Mayweather of football!' - Hugo Lloris told to make surprise move after leaving Tottenham

Hugo Lloris' Tottenham contract expires in the summer of 2022.

And whilst all at the club will be hoping to tie him down to new terms, his next move has, jokingly, been decided by those on social media following his role in France conceding against Portgual on Wednesday night.

As a ball was lofted into the France area from a free-kick, Lloris rushed off his line in a bid to make a clearance and snuff out any of the danger.

However, despite making contact with the ball, he also caught Danilo in the face and thus conceded a penalty from which Cristiano Ronaldo converted with ease.

The good news is that Danilo was fine after the collision, thus making the reaction from Spurs, as well as rival, fans all the funnier.

With the Frenchman's contract expiring next summer, some have suggested that he doesn't sign a new deal and just let it expire.

Just so he can focus on becoming a professional boxer.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

@matttyoe10 said: "Lloris Tyson The Boxer."

@ShaneBraggins said: "Lloris thinking he’s a boxer!"

@YonkoToni said: "Lloris the Mayweather of football."

With that said, Lloris has kept his cards close to his chest regarding his future amid talk of a reunion with Jose Mourinho in Italy with AS Roma this summer.

“I will answer these questions once the European Championships are over,” he told French publication Nice-Matin.

The 34-year-old has been hugely impressive during his nine-year stay with Tottenham, featuring a total of 373 games for Spurs, keeping 126 clean sheets along the way.
