Chicago’s Oprah Winfrey fans may have spotted a familiar face on the TV mogul’s Instagram page Tuesday morning.
Oprah posted a photo with Mayor Lori Lightfoot and her wife Amy Eshleman captioned, “Look who came to dinner.” Oprah wrote that the meeting, which happened Thursday, was her first with Lightfoot.
Oprah invited the couple over for dinner following a request from the mayor’s office to meet, according to a member of Lightfoot’s team.
During the dinner, the trio talked about the issues facing Chicagoans. Lightfoot was impressed with how much Oprah knew about local news and remarked at how invested Oprah is in the city, a member of Lightfoot’s team said.
By noon Tuesday, the post already had 115k likes and 946 comments. One commenter asked Oprah if she missed Chicago, to which she replied that her longtime partner Stedman Graham still has an office there.
