Mayo to take on Kerry as All-Ireland quarter-final draw is made

Mayo will take on Kerry for a place in the last four after the All-Ireland senior football championship draw was made on Monday morning.

After two gritty qualifier wins over Monaghan and Kildare, the reward for James Horan's side is a clash with Munster champions Kerry - a repeat of this year's Division One final.

Leinster champions Dublin will be the heavy favourites when they take a Cork side who overcame Limerick last time out.

Connacht champions Galway will not be underestimating a buoyant Armagh after the Orchard County knocked the reigning champions Tyrone out in the last round.

While fans of both Derry and Clare will both be dreaming of an All-Ireland semi-finals in what looks an intriguing matchup. Derry won 2-13 to 0-10 when the counties met in the league in February.

For the first time since 2014 when Donegal made the final, there will be a county outside of Dublin, Mayo, Kerry and Tyrone in the final. One country out of Galway, Armagh, Derry and Clare will play in the decider.

Armagh were last in a final when losing to Tyrone in 2003, while it is over twenty years since Galway beat Meath in the decider in 2001.

Derry's last final outing was way back in 1993, while Clare haven't been in an All-Ireland final day since 1917 - 105 years ago.

Venues and dates for the quarter-finals will be confirmed later today by the CCCC with matches scheduled across the weekend of June 25/6.
