Mayo boss James Horan will start three Championship debutants in Sunday’s opener with New York.
James McCormack, Matthew Ruane and James Carr will make their bows at Gaelic Park, the Bronx having impressed during Mayo’s League campaign, which culminated in them winning the title for the first time since 2001.
There are two changes from the team that beat Kerry in the final on March 31 with McCormack and Evan Regan coming in with Donal Vaughan and injured captain Diarmuid O’Connor missing out.
In O’Connor’s absence, Paddy Durcan will lead the side out for the game which throws in at 7.15pm Irish time on Sunday, as Mayo look to set up a Connacht semi-final with Roscommon or Leitrim on May 25.
MAYO: R Hennelly; C Barrett, B Harrison, K Higgins; P Durcan (capt), L Keegan, J McCormack; M Ruane, A O’Shea; E Regan, J Doherty, F Boland; K McLoughlin, D Coen, J Carr.
