Mayo star Mark Moran apologises over sexually inappropriate jokes after video emerges

Mark Moran has apologised over 'inappropriate' jokes he made over six months ago after a video emerged of the Mayo star.

The 19-year-old appears to make jokes of a sexual nature in the video, which was originally posted on popular app Tik Tok before being deleted.

The video circulated on social media after the forward's call-up to the Mayo panel, leading to the apology.

Moran labelled the video a 'mistake' and said the jokes were made 'in bad taste' in a statement.

“I would like to put something on the record today for people to hear," Moran said in an Instagram story.

“Some videos I posted over six months back included jokes made in bad taste and which I now realise were inappropriate and wrong.

“This was a mistake and I want to apologise unreservedly for my poor lack of judgement.

“My actions were juvenile and unacceptable.”

Mayo GAA have been contacted for comment.

Moran was Man of the Match in James Horan's side's Division 1 clash with Galway in his senior debut, and was a late substitute in their Connacht final win over the Tribesmen last weekend.
