Mayo Lotto punter scoops Daily Million Plus win of €500,000

A lucky punter in Co Mayo scooped a Daily Million Plus prize of €500,000.

Players in Ballina in the county have been urged to check their tickets following the draw in today's 2pm Daily Million draw.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold today at Clarke’s Newsagents in Ballina, Co Mayo.

The winning numbers were: 04, 05, 11, 14, 16, 30 and Bonus 38.

Following confirmation of the draw results, celebrations are now underway in Ballina.

Clarke's shop owner Jean Connor said: “I can’t believe it.

"I didn’t have my phone with me earlier and when I finally looked at it, I had a load of missed calls from the National Lottery – I had no idea what was going on!

"As a shopkeeper, especially in a lovely town like Ballina, it is the best news that you can get – to be told that one of your customers in a big lottery winner.

"We’ll enjoy some sensible celebrations today in the store and whoever the winner is, I hope that it changes their life for the better."

Daily Million draws take place at both 2pm and 9pm, seven days a week, for €1 per play.

It has been a bumper year for players of the game, with over €10.5 million won in prizes.

There have been 10 top prize winners in the game in 2020, including three winners of the €1 million Daily Million top prize and another seven winners of the €500,000 Daily Million Plus top prize.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to good causes.
