Mayo GAA's hilarious response to Gucci's GAA-esque shorts

Mayo GAA have posted a picture of their O’Neills shorts on social media in response to Gucci’s lookalikes.

They shared a picture of their shorts on Twitter after Gucci’s new €550 O’Neil’s lookalike shorts took social media by storm earlier this week.

Mayo GAA said on Twitter: “They might not be Gucci but you can get your red & green @O'Neills1918 shorts now from @Everlys for just €24. everlys.ie/everlys/en/Ev…#mayostyle.”

Gucci's shorts went viral after Paul Mescal, who is known for rocking O’Neills shorts when not on camera, was branded a style icon.

A fan tweeted Mescal, asking if the iconic fashion brand had sent him a pair, to which he replied: “I mean I certainly would not say no!”

O’Neills responded to Gucci themselves on social media, mocking the Italian brand for being over a century late to the ‘fashion trend’.

The Irish brand tweeted: "Only 102 years ahead of ye lads @gucci, we’ve been keeping Ireland stylish since 1918."
