Mayo GAA are asking clubs and supporters to fly their club or county colours in memory of Detective Colm Horkan.

Brave Det Horgan was shot dead in Castlerea, Co Roscommon on Wednesday night.

Mayo GAA have asked people in the GAA community to fly flags at midday on Sunday.

They posted on Facebook: "As a mark of respect to Detective Garda Colm Horkan & to support his family as best we can during this time we are asking our clubs & supporters to fly their club or county colours tomorrow at 12pm. #ColoursforColm #RIPColm."

Det Horkan, 49, was gunned down at around 11.45pm on Wednesday night.
