Mayo defender Eoghan McLaughlin had surgery today after suffering a double jaw fracture in Saturday's All-Ireland semi-final win over Dublin.
McLaughlin was stretchered off in the second half at Croke Park after a collision with Dublin's John Small.
And the wing back now looks likely to miss the All-Ireland final against either Kerry or Tyrone.
Mayo boss James Horan was not happy with Small's challenge on McLaughlin which was deemed fair by match referee Conor Lane.
Horan said: “I just thought the Eoghan McLaughlin one in particular, I was pretty close to it, I thought it was very dangerous. The way Eoghan fell, you know by the way a guy falls that they're in bother and the play just sort of went on. I was annoyed about that, yeah."
