BHOPAL: Temperatures marginally went down on Saturday, but were above normal mark and too high to give respite. The temperature may again shoot up on Sunday and respite is unlikely at least for the next three days.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there is no system over moisture incursion over the state and dry hot weather will continue to prevail till May 2 after which there was a possibility of clouds and scattered showers in the state due to the impact of a western disturbance, officials added.
Day temperature in Bhopal was 42 degrees, two degrees more than normal, while night temperature was 25.8 degrees, a degree more than normal mark. Wind direction was north-westerly and average wind speed was 20 kilometers per hour.
Highest maximum temperature was recorded at 45 degrees in Nawgong, Khajuraho, Gwalior and Sidhi. Heat wave was witnessed in Khajuraho and Nawgong.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday the meteorological officials said, there would be clear sky and dry weather will prevail in the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be respectively at 43 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 18 kmph.
Orange alert was issued for Sagar, Gwalior and Chambal divisions and for Rajgarh, Khandwa, Khargone, Rewa and Satna districts. The weather would be dry over other places in the state.
