Maycee Barber vs. Gillian Robertson targeted for UFC on ESPN 6

An intriguing flyweight bout is heading to the city of champions.

Maycee Barber and Gillian Robertson have agreed to square off underneath the 23 combined Celtics and Bruins championship banners at TD Garden in Boston. Contracts have not yet been signed for the bout on the Oct. 18 card, which serves as UFC on ESPN 6.

MMA Junkie confirmed an initial report from ESPN through a source with knowledge of the situation.

Just 21, the undefeated Barber (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has been kicking butt and taking names early in her UFC tenure. Barber had a TKO victory on Dana White’s Contender Series last summer to earn her UFC set and has followed up with back-to-back second-round TKOs in each of her official UFC fights.

Robertson (7-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is fresh off an impressive victory over Sarah Frota at UFC 240. With the American Top Team competitor’s second-round TKO, she maintained her streak of having all her UFC wins come inside the distance.
