'Maybe it's time to move on a striker' - Neal Ardley hoping to add Notts County signings

Neal Ardley says Notts County will increase  their search for new signings after  admitting that injuries and suspension will eventually hamper their promotion push.

The Magpies saw Damien McCrory limp off just 70 minutes into his return from injury during the 2-1 win at Yeovil amid fears he has damaged his meniscus.

With trio Ben Turner, Zoumana Bakayogo and Sam Slocombe also out for the next six to eight weeks because of injuries, Notts are also set to be without Wes Thomas due to a three-match ban following his red card on Saturday.

As the club fights for glory on two fronts, in the league and in the FA Trophy, boss Ardley is now eager to bolster his options to help with the run-in.

“Damien doesn’t look great, and it’s the same with Zoumana Bakayogo, Ben Turner and Sam Slocombe,” he said.

“We’ve lost Wes for three games now and it will catch up with us.

“We will  have a look, dust ourselves down and try to find out where Damo is in terms of his injury.

“But we probably need a full-back now and may be it’s time to move on a centre forward.

“But everywhere else I am really, really, happy with.”
