Mayawati questions minimum guaranteed income bill of Rajasthan government

LUCKNOW: BSP national president Mayawati on Sunday said that the Minimum Guaranteed Income Bill of the Rajasthan government is driven by its own political interest than public welfare.

She said that introducing the bill just ahead of the assembly elections in the state shows that people will not get immediate benefit of it. "Is it relevant to spend government's money on its publicity?", she said.

She hit out at the Ashok Gehlot government for "sleeping" in its entire regime and being busy in the internal bickering. "Had it not been so it would have worked for welfare of people earlier.
