Mayank Agarwal 'out of danger' after onboard medical emergency, going to Bengaluru for further care

NEW DELHI: Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal, who was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on Tuesday due to unease, is now reported to be "out of danger."

According to Karnataka Ranji team manager Ramesh, Mayank is in stable condition and will be transported to Bengaluru for further care.

Mayank's health scare occurred during a flight when he consumed liquid from a bottle, believing it to be drinking water. Following this, he experienced vomiting and discomfort, prompting his admission to the hospital.

Ramesh, the manager of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KCA) Ranji team, mentioned that Mayank's statement is being recorded by the police.

The incident is under investigation, and a case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the New Capital Complex Police Station in Agartala.

"We don't know in detail on this matter; we are taking him to Bengaluru today," Ramesh told ANI.

Mayank Agarwal, a key player for Karnataka in domestic cricket, has been in excellent form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, scoring two centuries and a half-century.

Karnataka is currently second in Group C with two wins, a draw, and a defeat in four matches.

In Mayank's absence, vice-captain Nikin Jose is expected to take over the captaincy for Karnataka.
