Jama first met Stormzy at the Red Bull Culture Clash in October 2014, and they started dating at the beginning of 2015.
After five years of dating, the well-known pair parted ways in 2020.
Jama and Stormzy, whose actual name is Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., reportedly got back together in November 2022. However at the time, Maya's management denied the rumours.
On October 22, 2022, Stormzy called the split his “biggest mistake” in an interview with Louis Theroux.
He said: “My break-up, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man. It was like, ok, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.
“That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? Away from someone passing away, that’s the biggest loss you can have.”
Ben Simmons
Beginning their intense romance in the summer of 2021, Jama and Ben Simmons were rumoured to have become engaged at Christmas, just a few months later.
According to a source close to the couple, Jama spent the holidays at the basketball player's £3.7 million estate in New Jersey before he proposed to her over Christmas.
Although the couple decided not to discuss their relationship or engagement in public, Jama accepted the proposal when comedian Mo Gilligan questioned her about it during their February Brit Awards hosting, where Jama was seen wearing a diamond ring.
A week later, on Valentine's Day, Jama posted a picture of a necklace on her Instagram story that had the date “12/18/21” and a ring emoji to represent the couple's engagement day.
However, it has been reported that the pair eventually called it quits after struggling with work schedules and long distance.
The NY Post was informed by a source that “while they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realise that they just come from two different worlds.”
Stormzy again
In 2023, Jama was seen rekindling her relationship with her 31-year-old ex-boyfriend Stormzy.
On the day of her ex-boyfriend's headline performance at London’s All Points East, Jama was spotted around the event, which sparked rumours.
The two ex-partners teased fans with mysterious holiday photos that suggested they were taking a couple's holiday after spectators muttered about their intimate backstage conversations.
Stormzy took Maya's hand as the stars strolled through Greece, seemingly confirming that they were finally back together.
The ex-lovers looked happier than ever to have reconnected when they were pictured walking hand in hand around Greece.
The couple confirmed their break up in July 2024.
Ruben Dias
Jama's current boyfriend is Ruben Dias.
According to reports, the 27-year-old Manchester City defender and the 30-year-old Love Island host met at the European Music Awards (EMAs) in November.
The pair have been getting closer ever since, and on Sunday, Jama was spotted cheering on the football player at Wembley Stadium.
Jama even travelled to Portugal to watch Ruben play in March after she was first seen with the Portuguese international footballer on New Year's Eve.
The duo appeared to confirm their romance on April 28 when they were spotted kissing and hugging on camera during YouTube personality KSI's Baller League football game on Monday night at Copper Box Arena.
In November 2024, Maya talked about her current relationship goals in an interview with The Standard, saying she is looking for real love.
“I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I’m feeling fussy. I’ve created such a nice life for myself alone and I don’t want anyone who’s not going to add to that.”
She continued: “I’m in this lovely bubble and I don’t want you unless you make me happy. If you’re not, I kind of don’t need you.
“One thing I’ve learned: some people are like, ‘I’m lonely, I need someone.’ But the mission in life is to make yourself happy, then find someone who brings something that matches that to the table.”
