Maya Jama had her fair share of heartbreak after a very public break-up with Stormzy.
But the TV presenter is now rumoured to be in a relationship with Australian basketball player Ben Simmons.
Handsome Ben may be unknown in Britain, but he’s a huge draw in the States, where he plays for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Maya, 26, who will host the BRITs Backstage show for ITV2 with Clara Amfo on May 11, flew to the city earlier this year and is believed to have been spending lots of time with Ben.
On March 12, she posted a snap of herself wearing a lime green tracksuit on Instagram.
Later that day, she was photographed in the same outfit while out shopping with 24-year-old Ben. She has since deleted the post.
Being linked to Maya appears to have boosted Ben, who returned to his NBA team’s line-up last year after an injury.
He has since been liking Maya’s Instagram posts, including her glam Marie Claire cover snap.
A source tells me: “Things are hotting up for Maya and Ben. They are really into each other and the fact she flew to Philadelphia to be with him says a lot. They had a fun two weeks together. It’s nice to see her so happy.”
Ben previously dated Kim Kardashian ’s half-sister Kendall Jenner.
Back in October 2019, he posted two fire emojis under a snap of Maya dressed as a mermaid with a shell bra and green hair.
The basketball ace had broken up with billionaire Kendall six months earlier.
Maya split from Stormzy in 2019 after four years together. They initially claimed to have parted on good terms, but Maya soon unfollowed him on social media.
Rumours then started circulating that the rapper had cheated on her.
His song, Lessons, is thought to be about their split as the lyrics claim he’d “done the dirt”. But Stormzy later said: “I didn’t cheat. What I did was a big disrespect, what I did was very inconsiderate.”
Both Maya and Ben declined to comment on the relationship rumours.
