Maya Jama reveals Love Islander's 'red-faced' shock exit in new episode

The Love Island villa has been left reeling after a surprise recoupling which has forced a contestant off the show. One Islander was reportedly axed from the ITV2 program after failing to couple up during filming yesterday (January 19).

Show insiders told The Sun islanders were told about the recoupling by host Maya Jama. Love Islander bosses have thrown three bombshells at contestants since the programme returned to screens on Monday, January 16. It appears to have paid off as fans have loved watching newcomers Tom Clare, Zara Lackenby-Brown and David Salacko start to work their magic.

A source told the publication: “The news of a recoupling sent shockwaves around the villa. One of the islanders was left red-faced after they weren’t chosen and has gone home. The first recoupling is always tough and it is fair to say this one will have viewers on the edge of their seats."

Fans will be hoping to catch a glimpse of Maya Jama, who they say has been sadly absent from the series so far. Despite this being the presenter's first week in the role, fans have been blown away by the 28-year-old, who grew up in Bristol, and could not get over how incredible she looks every time she does pop up.

This is not the only surprise the islanders have got to contend with. Last night The Sun exclusively revealed this year’s biggest bombshell twist – with two veteran islanders from international versions of the show arriving in South Africa.

An ITV source said: “The two new international recruits are essentially professional bombshells and won’t just shake up the villa - they’ll blow it apart. Both of them bed-hopped, bonked and had blistering rows on their seasons of Love Island.

“And neither has a shred of British restraint about them. They’re going to create explosive telly, just like they did the first time round. They are exactly what this series needs to cause some serious drama.”

There are 25 different versions of Love Island around the world and, so far, bosses have kept quiet about where the veteran Love Islanders will be from. Last year ITV made waves when they welcomed 2018 bad boy Adam Collard back into the villa in a dramatic return - a move that was criticised by Women’s Aid after his debut was shrouded in controversy over the way he treated the girls. But Australian fans were arguably treated to the most crazy twist yet, when season three winners Mitch Hibberd and Tina Provis separately returned to season four as warring exes then rekindled their love in the villa.

This latest shock comes following a dramatic fight which broke out between two contestants after a kiss last night. Haris, 21, and Shaq, 24, almost came to blows after a kiss took place between Tanya, 22, and David, 24.

While playing Beer Pong, David was dared to kiss the girl he fancied the most for 30 seconds - and he picked Tanya. Haris later asked David what the kiss was like, which enraged Shaq, who coupled up with Tanya on their first day on the island.
