Maya Jama pulls out of Love Island All Stars launch event due to illness

Maya Jama pulled out of the Love Island All Stars series launch earlier today.

The presenter, 31, couldn’t appear at the event in London where the line-up was announced due to illness.

“Maya pulled out of today’s launch after falling sick,” a source told The Sun.

“It’s the same day she’s due to fly out to South Africa as filming starts this week.”

ITV confirmed the reason Jama couldn’t attend, adding: “Maya is unfortunately unwell and wasn’t able to attend this mornings launch event.

“She looks forward to the Love Island All Stars premiere on January 12th.”

This morning, the line-up for the third series of All Stars was unveiled, and a couple of former winners are heading back to the villa.

Jess Harding, who won series 10 with then partner Sammy Root, will be on screens, as well as Millie Court, who won series seven.

Ronan Keating’s son Jack, who appeared on the show in 2022 and failed to be picked during Casa Amor, will also be walking into the villa.

Other names on the list include winter Love Island’s Leanne Amaning, Charlie Frederick, who appeared on Made in Chelsea following his 2018 stint, Tamer Hassan’s daughter Belle Hassan and Whitney Adebayo, who was on the show in 2023.

There are also islanders from last year on the list, who include Tommy Bradley, Ciaran Davies and Helena Ford.

Last year’s series was won by Casey O'Gorman and Gabby Allen, who were the underdogs to win.

O’Gorman first appeared on the ninth series of Love Island while Allen was featured on series three, where she was coupled up with former Blazin’ Squad member Marcel Somerville.

The pair split up last year in May, a month after they went official.

"After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically,” their representatives said in a joint statement to MailOnline.

“This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other."

The new series will again be set in South Africa but will this year run for six weeks instead of five, airing on ITV2 and ITVX.
