Love Island host Maya Jama is set to star in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix hit The Gentlemen, according to reports.
The 30-year-old TV personality will reportedly play the glam wife of a friend of lead character Eddie Horniman and has been filming at Gloucestershire’s Grade II listed building Badminton House.
The Gentlemen was renewed for a second season last summer and is a spin-off of sorts from the original 2019 film.
The show told the story of Eddie Horniman (Theo James), the second son of an aristocrat, who ends up inheriting the family manor and title when his father dies… along with the cannabis-growing operation his dad was keeping a secret underneath their estate.
With massive debts to clear and mafia gangs circling, Eddie has to team up with drug kingpin Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) to keep the estate – and the business – safe and his family alive. Over several episodes, that includes run-ins with Nazis, gangs from all corners of the globe and rival drug dealers out to get a cut of the Glass’s business.
Jama recently teased her followers on Instagram by posting a snap of a cast list with the Netflix logo on it, as well as sharing a peek of a Netflix script.
The star also posted a photo of her and Skins star Scodelario, who plays Susie Glass in the show.
A source told The Sun: “Maya is over the moon to land a role in such a massive show with Guy Ritchie at the helm.
“The Gentlemen was one of 2024’s biggest series and it’s such a glossy, sexy show. It’s a perfect fit.”
The series is expected to be eight episodes long and will see the return of Ritchie as director, executive producer and writer, alongside Matthew Read.
Key members of the cast, including James, Scodelario and Daniel Ings – who plays Freddy Horniman, Eddie’s older brother – will also be returning.
The show received positive reviews upon its release, with the Standard’s review calling it “peak Guy Ritchie”.
