Maya Jama is stuck in Bristol because of coronavirus but wowing fans with TikTok video from garden

Maya Jama is locked down in Bristol due to the coronavirus outbreak – but she has been keeping fans entertained with videos on social media.

The 25-year-old Radio 1 presenter, who grew up in inner-city Bristol, has not been on air since March 21 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Responding to fans wondering about her whereabouts, Maya tweeted yesterday (March 27): "I’m lockdown in Bristol so the lovely Jordan North is covering. Tuned in & there in spirit though."

Shortly afterwards, the former Cotham School pupil uploaded a TikTok video from her Bristol back yard, receiving almost 15,000 likes on Twitter alone.

Impressing her followers with some revolving martial arts moves, she tweeted: "My first ever public TikTok Loool trying a ting here but I’m well proud of this kick skill.. tag me if you attempt it."

Maya is scheduled to return to her Radio 1 show at 11am on April 10.
