Maya Jama DJs at Radio 1 in her Halloween costume after big night out

Maya Jama DJed in her Halloween costume this morning after a very big night out.

The Radio 1 star, 25, dressed up as mermaid for the spooky celebrations this year.

She began her evening at Jonathan Ross’ fancy dress annual party at in north London before heading to her own party, held at a club.

Rather than heading home to get a few hours of kip, she then went straight to work, presenting her 10am to 12.45pm slot.

On her way to the studio, she posted on her Instagram story: “I’ve just watched my whole story back from last night and I’m off to radio as my mermaid self, as promised. Tune in! 10am! What am I like?”

On the airwaves, while speaking with a gravelly voice, she told her listeners: “A lot of you are very impressed I’ve come into work. I’m here and I’m alive, happy Friday!”

Later on she added: “Halloween recovery crew, are you with me? I sound like I’ve swallowed barbed wire, but we’re ok. We’re good.”

The presenter joins many other broadcasters who have completed all-nighters.

In 2013, while still at the helm of Radio 1’s Breakfast Show, Nick Grimshaw brought Harry Styles into work after the duo partied all night at the Brit Awards.

Stormzy then surprised Grimshaw, 35, and Rita Ora with 20 pizzas in the studios after the trio partied at the Brit Awards into the wee hours in 2017.

A year earlier, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield headed straight into the This Morning studios after their NTA win.

The duo, still wearing their formal outfits from the night before, told viewers how they went to Ant McPartlin’s house after the ceremony.
