Maya Jama debuts fresh haircut ahead of Comic Relief hosting duties

Maya Jama unveiled a striking new haircut while catching up with some of the Love Island All Stars cast ahead of her Comic Relief hosting duties.

The British star stepped out at the launch of her collaboration with Gordon's Premium Pink Gin at Lucky Voice in Liverpool Street, sporting a choppy side-swept fringe and slicked back plaited ponytail.

The Love Island host dressed all in denim for her exclusive soiree and was joined by Kaz Kwami, Casey O'Gorman, Callum Jones and Sophie Piper, who recently appeared on ITV2’s Love Island in January.

Prior to the event, Jama filmed her hairdresser getting her ready and admitted on her Instagram Story: “Right, so you do have to trust the process.

“I am going for one of those mini fringes and Ross is cutting it in. Right now, I look like someone bit off the remainder of my fringe.”

The glitzy gathering commemorated the launch of the star's new Gordon’s Premium Pink limited edition bottles.

During the event, Jama led a cocktail masterclass for her celebrity pals and guests as she introduced the exclusive ‘Clink with Pink’ package.

Later on, the Londoner took charge of the karaoke booth, leading the partygoers in energetic renditions of Backstreet Boys' I Want it That Way and Everybody.

Jama took over Love Island hosting duties from Laura Whitmore in January 2023 when she hosted the third Winter Love Island in South Africa.

Since taking over the show’s reigns, she has gone on to front the summer installment as well as the All Stars version and Love Island Games.

The TV star’s appearance came just weeks after she hosted Brits alongside Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp, which brought in an average viewership of three million people.

Now Jama is set to present BBC one’s annual charity telethon Comic Relief this Friday alongside a whole host of stars Joel Dommett, Davina McCall, David Tenant, Sir Lenny Henry and Paddy McGuinness.
