Maya Jama confirms she is taking a break from social media

Maya Jama has revealed she is taking a break from social media and deleted various apps after feeling overwhelmed.

The Bristol star signed off Twitter yesterday evening (June 22) after telling fans she felt overwhelmed.

On her Instagram account, she wrote: "Deleted social media apps from my phone for a few days to let my mind breathe and my management have been on here instead..

"A gentle reminder to anyone feeling overwhelmed, low or triggered by things they are seeing online right now id recommend having a social media break too".

She added on Instagram: "My work will be posting/ reposting work related things for a little while. Brb x"

Maya Jama is best known for hosting a Radio 1 show which she has since quit after it was revealed by the BBC that she has "exciting commitments later in the year" which meant Maya was not able to "dedicate the time needed to her show".

Over the last few years, Maya has hosted shows such as ITV's Cannonball and Channel 4's The Circle, and been a team captain on panel show Don't Hate The Playaz.

She was also tipped to host Love Island but the gig ended up going to Laura Whitmore.
