Police have said they will use enforcement as a last resort ahead of an Ayrshire car cruise going ahead today.
The annual event at Irvine beach park typically sees hundreds of motorists gathering at the harbourside spot.
An event created on Facebook dubbed 'Cruise Irvine: May Mayhem' indicates that thousands of motorists could descend on Ayrshire.
And cops say there will be a "highly visible police presence in and around the Irvine area".
They also warned that there could be congestion in and around the Irvine area as a result of the event.
Event organisers posted: "This event will rely on restrictions being lifted in Scotland, even then please respect everybody’s personal space. Get yer 2 meter sticks."
A Police Scotland statement reads: "We are aware of a proposed car cruise event taking place at Irvine Beach Park today.

"If this event does go ahead, it will be policed appropriately and anyone travelling to it should ensure they are safe and free to do so under the Scottish Government’s coronavirus guidelines.
"There may be some congestion in the area and possible delays to those wishing to visit Irvine Beach and Beach Park and we are urging all road users, including pedestrians, to take care now the roads are becoming busier due to the further easing of non-essential travel.
"You can expect to see a highly visible police presence in and around the Irvine area.
"We will be engaging with people to explain the coronavirus legislation and encourage compliance but will not hesitate to use our enforcement powers as a last resort."
