May bank holiday weekend: Things to do in Dublin from dog festival to club nights

The bank holiday weekend is set to be a true taste of summer fun, with an outdoor beer festival, dog-themed park celebration and plenty of late night fun to be had.

With so much happening, it's good to have a handy run down of the best events happening and things to do in Dublin.

Pups in The Park

A wholesome doggy themed festival is set to take over Malahide Castle and Gardens this Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.

Declared as the "ultimate dog's day out", the two-day event will allow visitors to experience a wide range of fun filled areas and activities including the Leader Main Arena, Expert Talk Stage, Obedience Ring, Agility Course, Hay Bale Race, Puppy Academy, The Great Dog Walk and much more.

The festival is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm each day.

Pups in the Park takes place on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 at Malahide Castle and Gardens (Equinox Events)

Happy Days Beer and Food Festival

The Happy Days Beer and Food Festival is coming back to Rascals Brewery in Inchicore this Saturday and Sunday.

It will bring together diverse food vendors and a huge array of different beers, all taking up residence in multiple areas in and around the brewery.

Ticket holders can expect to enjoy delicious fare from the likes of BeatBox, El Milagro, Aventura Cafe and Cool Boi. Meanwhile brewers who will be there include Galway Bay, Wicklow Wolf, DOT Brew, O Brother, Ballykilcavan and Black's of Kinsale.

Swiftoggedon

The Taylor Swift fans among us will be jumping for joy this Saturday, April 30 in The Grand Social on Liffey Street. A dedicated club night will blast Taylor's biggest anthems, heartbreak hits and iconic bops for Swifties to sing (or scream) along to.

Another Way 5km in Darndale Park

A special family friendly fun run is set to take place this Saturday with the aim of bringing together and engaging the local community in Darndale.

The event consists of a 5km run for adults and a 1km run for kids.

The event has been organised as part of the Get The Message Out campaign, which was established by Northside Partnership to connect people to addiction and counselling services.

Inclusive Exclusive Disco Brunch

This bank holiday Sunday, there will be a disco brunch event at Farrier and Draper on South William Street.

Hosted by drag star Anziety, there will also be performances by newcomer Naomi Diamond.

Tickets include bottomless drinks from a specially curated menu as well as a brunch main course.

Silent Adventures Disco Walking Tour

It's a walking tour, a disco and a flash mob as well, apparently.

Described as a "rhythmic riot through Dublin", the walking/dancing tour costs just under €15 and begins at 3pm at The Wild Duck on Sycamore Street.
