Olympic hero Max Whitlock MBE was surprised on arrival back in the UK by his young daughter, who was clearly over the moon to be reunited with her champion dad.
Whitlock had no idea his family were waiting for him in the arrivals area at London Heathrow airport and was emotional on seeing his daughter come bounding over as he emerged through the gate.
Whitlock arrives back in the UK as a triple Olympic gold medalist having defended the pommel horse crown which he won at Rio 2016.
In a tweet posted by the champion accompanied by the video of his homecoming, Whitlock wrote: "What an amazing surprise, my family kept it a secret so I didn’t think they were meeting me at the airport!
"Wow it feels good to be home."
Whitlock faced stiff competition in the pommel horse competition, and faced particular pressure as he was the first to perform in the final of the event in Tokyo.
The 28-year-old set the standard with a borderline faultless exhibition of gymnastic skill which was rewarded with a mammoth score of 15.583, which the field was unable to match.
That incredible result left Whitlock with his sixth medal in total, after having won three medals at Rio 2016 and two at his home games in London 2012.
Whitlock spoke emotively to the BBC after his remarkable win: "I feel lost for words. I am completely overwhelmed and it feels kind of surreal.
"I had seen the other sports, gold medals flowing in and I wanted to do the same here. Incredible journey.
"The pressure was there and I could feel it. Experience pays a lot in situations like this.

Being first up meant I had to go all out. I couldn't watch the scores. I had to go all out. That was the biggest routine I had been training for. I couldn't have done any more."
Whitlock's return home follows that of Team GB's swimming superstars on Monday evening, who won a record-breaking eight medals in the pool in Tokyo.
