Max Verstappen’s father unharmed after crashing into a tree in rally car race

  • Jos Verstappen, father of four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen, was involved in a "violent" rally car crash in Belgium on Sunday.
  • The incident occurred during the Loyers special stage of the Rallye de Wallonie, where Verstappen Snr lost control of his car and collided with a tree.
  • Despite the car flipping upside-down in the wreckage, Jos Verstappen and his co-driver Jasper Vermeulen managed to escape unharmed.
  • Jos Verstappen, who is the reigning national rally champion, had been running in third position before his car went off the road.
  • Separately, Verstappen Snr recently criticised the new Formula 1 regulations, stating they make the sport less enjoyable and diminish a driver's impact, aligning with concerns expressed by his son Max.
