Crystal Palace midfielder Max Meyer has moved to distance himself from remarks made by his father towards former club Schalke.
Meyer started his career in Gelsenkirchen having come through the ranks with Die Konigsblauen.
But he walked out for nothing in 2018 to join Crystal Palace on a free transfer.
Schalke have since struggled in the Bundesliga, finishing 14th last season and now going 10 games without a win this term.
Indeed, since the Bundesliga’s resumption following its coronavirus-enforced suspension, David Wagner’s men have suffered three straight defeats - intensifying pressure on the ex-Huddersfield boss - while there have also been financial cutbacks.
In a social media post, Achim Meyer can be seen letting fly at his son’s former club, while driving through the city in a Lamborghini he claims was paid for by the club.
"It doesn’t get any better, man. Through the forbidden city, Gelsenkirchen.
"Off to the tax consultant. It's nice with the paid Lambo from the bankruptcy club. Wonderful."

The 24-year-old wrote: "I was just made aware of a video from my father.
“I am deeply shocked by this video.
“It doesn’t fit in this time, it doesn’t fit in this world, it doesn’t fit in any time. I have Schalke to thank very, very much and I distance myself from the nature and content of the video."
