Max Kruse reveals he rejected transfer to Liverpool after leaving Werder Bremen

Max Kruse has claimed he turned down a move to Liverpool earlier this summer before joining Fenerbache.

The Germany international was a free agent after leaving Werder Bremen at the end of last season and had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.

However, the ECHO reported at the time that Jurgen Klopp was not looking to add Kruse to his ranks at Anfield, having wanted to keep hold of Divock Origi and not block Rhian Brewster's pathway to the first team.

But despite this, Kruse has confirmed that he did receive an offer from the Reds but opted against a move to Merseyside, insisting he had no regrets about his decision.

"During the transfer period, I’ve received lots of offers and one of them was Liverpool ," Kruse told Bein Sports Turkey . "But I decided to join Fenerbahce because I believe I will be very happy there.

"I spoke with a lot of players during that period and I am happy about my decision."
