Max Holloway beat up a bloodied and bruised Calvin Kattar - then offered to fight Conor McGregor in seven days' time.
Holloway dominated Kattar over five one-sided rounds on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi as he bounced back from consecutive defeats by Alex Volkanowski.
His victory will likely earn him a shot a trilogy bout with the featherweight champion if Volkanowski beats Brian Ortega in March.
But with McGregor due to take on Dustin Poirier next weekend, Holloway offered to step in if either man is forced out.
The UFC was forced to postpone a string of fights last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And while their strict protocols in the Middle East should ensure McGregor and Poirier make it to the cage, Holloway intends to remain on the island.
He said: "All I've got to say is there is a big, big fight next week - Dustin Poirier against Conor McGregor - and guess what, your boy is staying all the way through the week.
"If anything happens, Dana [White, UFC president] knows my number and he can hit me up."
Holloway has history with both fighters having been outpointed by McGregor in 2013 and Poirier in 2019.
And against Kattar he showed he remains a force in the 145lb division, landing 445 strikes over the 25-minute fight.
Referee Herb Dean could - and perhaps should - have stepped in to stop the bout during a lop-sided fourth round but allowed it to continue.
And Kattar bravely clung on through the final session as Holloway showboated and spoke to the commentary team while evading punches.
