Max George opens up about battling physical symptoms of depression

The Wanted singer Max George opened up about battling physical symptoms of depression.

Max has been battling with depression for more than 10 years and said his "chest and back and shoulders" suddenly became covered in spots.

The star had to get it professionally checked out and said: "I had to have treatment to have it all burnt off.

"I then had to go to Disneyland with the boys to perform and they were aware of the pain I was in because of this treatment and I had to get up and dance with Cinderella and she was ragging my back."

He added to MailOnline : "I had to spend the whole night in a cold bath while the boys went out in Paris and that's when the physical symptoms started."

The singer went on to reveal that between 2014 and 2015 was the worst time for his mental health physically.

The Strictly Come Dancing star previously revealed how depression had him in hospital for brain scans shortly after his band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2014.

Max struggled to even leave his home and told that he "couldn't walk" as his head span.

"I had a three month period in my life where I couldn't leave my apartment without being sick," he told Strictly co-star Jamie Laing and Francis Boulle on the Private Parts podcast in January.

"My head was spinning. I couldn't walk. So I ended up in hospital having scans on my brain and it was all down to being depressed."

However, he later moved to Los Angeles after landing a role in Glee and doctors in the States gave him medication.

"It helped - but I came off it because I didn't want to take something for six, seven or eight months and not be fine without it," he added.

He reasoned that he must have felt "down about The Wanted" but didn't have time to process anything.
