Max George and Kelsey Parker lead tributes to Tom Parker on anniversary of his death

Kelsey Parker and Max George have led the tributes to Tom Parker, as they marked the one-year anniversary of The Wanted star’s death.

Tom passed away on March 30 2022, aged 33, following a courageous 18-month long battle with brain cancer. He was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour in October 2020.

He left behind his wife, Kelsey, 32, and their children Aurelia, three, and Bodhi, two.

Kelsey took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late husband. Uploading an image of the two entwined together, with Tom placing his hands on her stomach, as she rested her face against his, smiling at him.

She simply captioned the image: “One year without you ️(heart emoji) forever my soul mate.”

The Wanted’s official account also posted a sweet tribute to the star, uploading an image of Tom gazing into the distance, captioning it: “ THE Tom Parker – Always and Forever (red heart emojis).”

Tom’s fans took to the comment section to leave tributes to the singer, with one writing: “”The legend of our time, always remembered”, while another typed: “A legend who will stay gold forever”, with a third commenting: “Absolutely one of a kind.”

Tom’s bandmate and former flat mate, Max George, 34 uploaded an emotional video to his Instagram account, in which he admitted “time isn’t healing much yet”.

He said: “Obviously today is the one-year anniversary of Tom’s passing, it’s a difficult day for everyone that knew him.

“It’s been a year and I know people say time’s a great healer, but to be honest I don’t feel any better about the situation now than I did a year ago tomorrow when I woke up that next morning.”

“What it’s taught me is that I've done more in the last year personally, myself, than I've ever done in my life and that’s probably what the loss of Tom has given me.”

It was at this point that he confessed that he thinks more about Tom now than he did when he was alive.

Max explained: “The one thing that probably gets me the most, and it actually f***ing annoys me, is that I think about him more now than I did when he was here.

“Obviously apart from the fact that we lived together or we’re touring together because we’re with each other every day, but I think of him far more now than I did between the years of say 2014 to 2022.

“I think what I've learnt from his passing is never get too comfortable with the people that you love because those you can’t replace.

“Time doesn’t replace people who are your best friends or who have your heart so never get too comfortable.”
