Max George enjoyed a festive day out with his girlfriend Maisie Smith in London following his heart surgeries.

The Wanted singer, 37, had a pacemaker fitted after being rushed to hospital in December 2024 following issues with his heart.

However, the device gave him “flickering sensations” that got steadily worse and he had a second operation in January to correct the issue.

Last month, he revealed he was taken back into hospital days before the US leg of The Wanted’s tour - but said he was recovering well after a few “tweaks”.

And the hitmaker seemed to be in fighting shape as he attended the opening of the Carmex Christmas Cafe at The Chalet at Somerset House earlier this week.

The singer and his actress girlfriend were seen decorating gingerbread houses and sipping Carmex Winter Click Stick-themed hot chocolates at the festive pop-up cafe.

They were joined by other stars like Love Island couple Molly Smith and Tom Clare, JLS singer JB Gill and former Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts.

The event was celebrating the launch of the Carmex Winter 4 Pack, which is available from Amazon, Sainsbury's, TK Maxx, Holland & Barrett & Urban Outfitters. Additional stockist information is available at Carmex.co.uk.

Last month, George revealed he had a full heart scan after being taken into A&E twice.

Sharing photos of himself lying in the MRI machine on Instagram, he wrote: “So, THIS happened 2 days before our tour in America…and no, I didn’t go to space.

“After being taken into A&E twice in a week due to arrhythmias, i had to have a full heart scan .Luckily everything was fine and I was given the green light to get back on stage.... just needed a few tweaks.

“So buzzing I was able to tour US. So many more in the diary for next year🤘🏻Hopefully I won’t be doing this bushtucker trial for a while.. it’s GRIM.”

Earlier this year, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant revealed he had been forced to undergo a second secret operation after pacemaker wires were inserted too deeply into his heart.

Photos shared at the time showed his chest stitched back together and him recovering in bed.

He explained: “A few weeks ago I had to go back into hospital after having some physical symptoms in my chest. It turned out that one of the leads was placed too far into my heart.

“The second surgery took about two hours. Luckily, it was a success and they kindly let me listen to Oasis the whole time!”

George added: “It can take a few weeks or months for the inflammation of my heart to subside (myocarditis) but I’m sure I’ll be back on top form in no time.”

He previously revealed doctors had warned he might never sing again after also undergoing a lung biopsy during his health battle.

The ordeal left him in pain for weeks and raised fears over his career.
