Max Clifford says charity talk will go ahead

Settlement: Max Clifford was the subject of discussions over a £200,000 payment, the court heard

An event which is to be hosted by PR consultant Max Clifford will be going ahead on December 10.

The evening, which is billed as Max Clifford Reveals Secrets of the Rich and Famous, will raise funds to help a Surrey boy achieve his dream of walking unaided for the first time.

The boy has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, which means the muscles in his legs are tight, which can be painful and make it impossible for him to walk unaided.

The £90-a-head evening, at Pennyhill Park Hotel, in Surrey, will help to raise the £60,000 needed so that he and his family can travel to St Louis Hospital, in Missouri, in the US, for a procedure called selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR).

Combined with physiotherapy, SDR will see the boy walk unaided for the first time.

With the support of national charity Caudwell Children, the boy's family has so far raised £20,000 and hope that the event will take them one step closer to achieving their target.

Tickets are still available for the event. For more information and to buy tickets contact Pennyhill Park on 01276 486156 or email enquiries@pennyhillpark.co.uk.
