Max Allegri confirms when he'll make next move after leaving Juventus

Max Allegri says he is not interested in a year off after leaving Juventus - and is already on the lookout for his next 'project'.

Juventus confirmed on Friday that head coach Allegri is leaving the club this summer, despite having a year left on his contract.

The Italian won five successive Serie A titles - completing the domestic double on four occasions - since replacing Antonio Conte in 2014.

He led Juventus 11 trophies in all, as well as to the Champions League final in 2015 and 2017. But he couldn't lead the club to European glory - with the Bianconeri falling at the quarter-final stage to Ajax this year.

Allegri has been linked with Chelsea , Bayern Munich and even Manchester United .

Juventus were presented with the Serie A trophy after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Atalanta.

And afterwards, Allegri was asked whether he will take a sabbatical as he assesses his next move.

“I am not particularly looking for a year off," said Allegri, in quotes reported by Football Italia .

"I’ll only take a Sabbatical if I have to, but otherwise the idea is to find a project that convinces me. Life is full of surprises and you have to be ready for anything.

“I train with joy and fun, because if I am not convinced by the squad at my disposal, I try changing things around, moving players into new positions and finding something different, otherwise I get bored.”

Simone Inzaghi and Sinisa Mihajlovic, as well as Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri, have all been linked with the upcoming vacancy in Turin, while Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola recently quashed talk that he was being lined up.

Allegri said: “The club will certainly make the best choice to carry on this winning squad. The Champions League was tough, we reached the two legs against Ajax with so many injuries.

"This squad is capable of a great Champions League run, there has been a constant growth on and off the field. I believe the key will be facing the Champions League with joy and not worry.”
