DALLAS _ The Dallas Mavericks came to terms on veteran minimum contracts Thursday with forward Quincy Acy and guard Jonathan Gibson.
A 6-7, 240-pounder, Acy signed a two-year contract, while Gibson inked a three-year partially guaranteed contract.
Acy averaged 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds last season for the Sacramento Kings.
Seth Curry, another new Mavericks player who happened to be a teammate of Acy's last season with the Kings, used his Twitter account to tweet out: "We back bro! Ayeeee." Acy, 25, tweeted back: "Ayyyeeee. They couldn't keep us apart."
After spending his rookie season with the Toronto Raptors and with the D-League's Bakersfield Jam, Acy first played for the Kings during the 2013-14 season.
A second-round pick by Toronto in 2012, Acy had his best pro season during the 2014-15 campaign when he averaged career-highs of 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per contest while playing 68 games for the New York Knicks. But he was back with the Kings last season where he shot 55.6 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from 3-point territory.
Meanwhile, Gibson (6-2, 185) is a 28-year old combo guard who has been one of the bright spots for the Mavs in Las Vegas. Last year Gibson averaged 42 points per game in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Thursday's two signings bring the total of players under contract to the NBA-maximum of 15 for the Mavs. But that includes the verbal agreements by Dirk Nowitzki (two years, $40 million) and Curry (two years, $6 million), who are expected to sign their contracts in the near future.
