Mavs falter again in 102-95 loss to Suns

DALLAS _ The Mavericks were hoping to climb out of the Western Conference cellar for good Thursday night. But they'll have to pay a little more rent for that space.

They remain tied for the fewest wins in the Western Conference after dropping a 102-95 decision to the Phoenix Suns at American Airlines Center.

At 11-25, the Mavericks fell back to dead last in the West, a half-game behind the Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tied at 93, the Mavericks surrendered five quick points to Eric Bledsoe, who had 26 on the night to lead the suns. Moments later, Bledsoe made two free throws and the Suns were secure with a 100-93 lead and 23.7 seconds left.

It was another night that reinforced the Mavericks' rebounding deficiency.

They were beaten on the glass 53-31, giving up 18 boards to former Maverick Tyson Chandler.

Deron Williams scored 20 points and handed out six assists to pace the Mavericks, who received 19 points from Harrison Barnes and 16 points from Seth Curry. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Devin Booker added 22 points for the Suns.
