Mavs' Andrew Bogut out at least three games

Mavericks center Andrew Bogut is expected to miss at least the next three games "and probably longer," pending the result of an MRI he's having Tuesday, coach Rick Carlisle said after practice.

Bogut suffered a hyperextended knee in the first quarter Monday against Charlotte when Hornets big man Roy Hibbert crashed into him and sent Bogut sprawling.

"We'll know more later," Carlisle said. "My understanding is that this is not going to be terribly serious. He's going to miss some time. We'll probably know better in a day or two how much time. But I don't see him playing (Wednesday against Sacramento) or Friday or Saturday, for sure. And probably longer."

The Mavericks are heading into a very busy stretch of schedule where they play eight games in the upcoming 13 days.

In Bogut's absence, they will have to lean on Dwight Powell and Salah Mejri at center, and also may play an assortment of smaller lineups.

Carlisle also said that Seth Curry, who has missed three games with a strained right knee, is progressing nicely.

"Seth's doing better," Carlisle said. "He should probably be doubtful for tomorrow. If he's doing better, he might be upgraded to questionable. I think that's unlikely."
