Mauro Icardi and Ander Herrera on 12-man PSG transfer ‘blacklist’ as summer exodus planned

Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera and striker Mauro Icardi are among 12 players being made for sale by Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The French giants have welcomed Luis Campos to the Parc des Princes as a Football Advisor, with the Portuguese in-line for an extremely busy first transfer window in the French capital. According to Marca, he has already put together a lengthy list of players to be shown the exit door this summer as he aims to refresh the current squad under instructions from president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Among those are imminent West Ham United signing Alphonse Areola, who is set to join the Hammers on a permanent deal following last season’s loan spell at the London Stadium. He is set to follow fellow goalkeeper Marcin Bulka out of the door after he joined Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice.

Former Fulham loanee Sergio Rico does not appear to have a future at the French capital either and will be a third goalkeeper to wave goodbye.

Thilo Kehrer and Adbou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye and also Arnaud Kalimuendo are five more whom it is hoped will bring in considerable sums to the Parc des Princes. There is also Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes and Herrera, both of whom are on big money contracts and having made it known they would like to remain.

Then there is former Inter Milan striker Icardi, who fell down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino and has looked a shadow of his former self in Paris. Persuading teams to take on Icardi's big wages and pay a transfer fee won't be easy given he's been little more than a part-time player in recent seasons.

Whilst Campos has given his outlook on the state of the current squad, there are still some major questions to answer before PSG embark on the defence of their title. Mauricio Pochettino is set to leave the club and be replaced by Christophe Galtier.

Neymar also appears to have an uncertain future. French media have suggested that he is considering leaving the club five years after his world record switch.

Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all been noted as admirers in the Brazilian winger although his wages and the cost of any transfer would complicate negotiations should he too pursue a move away from the club.
