Maurizio Sarri 'to become next Juventus manager' after Pep Guardiola snub

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly agreed a three-year deal to become the new Juventus boss - after Pep Guardiola rejected the Italians.

The European giants are on the look out for a new head coach following the announcement that Massimiliano Allegri will step down at the end of the season.

They had earmarked Manchester City manager Guardiola as their No.1 priority, but the Spaniard has opted to remain in England and continue his project at the Etihad Stadium.

Juve soon made Sarri, who impressed in Serie A with Napoli, their new target, though Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho were also mentioned as candidates.

And it seems the Turin giants have got their man after Sarri decided to call time on his Chelsea spell despite only arriving at Stamford Bridge last summer.

According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri , Juve have agreed personal terms with Sarri and now need to discuss a financial package with his club Chelsea.

The Blues have become increasingly concerned whether the ex-Napoli manager is still committed to the club after an indifferent season.

Despite achieving his target of guiding them back to the top four, his style-of-play has often been criticised by large sections of the Stamford Bridge support.

They are also in with a chance of lifting silverware, with Sarri’s side meeting Premier League rivals Arsenal in the Europa League final next Wednesday.

But this season hasn’t been without turmoil for the boss, and Chelsea fans have chanted against Sarri on numerous occasions this season.
