Maurizio Sarri reveals what he discussed with owner Roman Abramovich in Boston

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed the nature of his discussions with club's owner Roman Abramovich during the the Blues' post season trip to Boston.

Chelsea travelled to Boston in the week after their final Premier League game of the season. The team played a friendly against MLS side New England Revolution as part of the trip, a game where they were 3-0 victors. However, there was a casualty from the game, as England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek was forced from the field with an achilles injury. It was later revealed that the player would need surgery and will miss the Europa League final against Arsenal.

Sarri's future at Chelsea has been unsure for sometime, and Loftus-Cheek's injury would only worsen the situation, especially considering that the Italian was not too happy about playing another game before the final versus Arsenal.

Now, the Chelsea manager has revealed what he discussed with Roman Abramovich during the trip to America.

“No. The owner was there only to ask the condition of Loftus-Cheek, of course," he said when questioned if he met the owner in Boston. "I spoke with him only for one minute, no more. But only about Loftus-Cheek.”

Loftus-Cheek is currently recovering from surgery and will hope to be fit in order to make an impact on the team next season, whether that will be under Maurizio Sarri or a new manager is still to be seen.
