Maurizio Sarri opens up on X-rated reaction to Paulo Dybala's Juventus wondergoal

Paulo Dybala stole the show with a stunning winner for Juventus against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, but boss Maurizio Sarri revealed he turned the air blue after seeing the striker go for goal.

The Argentina international won the Champions League game for the Serie A giants with the match's only goal in stoppage time at the end of the first half in Turin.

The former Palermo man stepped up to take a free-kick from a tight angle on the right-hand side, one from which it looked highly improbable to score.

However, the 26-year-old expertly found the net and fired the ball past Atleti stopper Jan Oblak to ultimately hand his side all three points and secure top spot in Group D.

Sarri said Dybala deserved all the praise he was receiving for scoring from such an unlikely position and said the goal was just reward for his display.

But the Juventus boss also admitted that when he first realised the striker was going for goal, it led to the Italian turning the air blue.

"Dybala scored a goal that no one could have advised him to do.

"The first thing a coach says in that situation is 'what the f*** are you doing shooting from there for?'

"Therefore what he did was extraordinary and he deserved the applause he got.

"It was due to him for his performance and also the technical skill, which was extraordinary."

Dybala's strike was worthy of winning any game and it also helped secure Juventus' safe passage through to the knockout stages of Europe's premier club competition with a game to spare.

The 26-year-old has now netted on each of his last three appearances for the Old Lady, leading Sarri to label the attacker as 'world class'.

“Dybala is world class, in a very positive period of form, so right now he is making the difference," added the former Chelsea boss.
