Maurizio Sarri issues N'Golo Kante injury update ahead of Chelsea v Arsenal Europa League final

Maurizio Sarri is 'optimistic' that Chelsea will have N'Golo Kante back to full fitness by the time Chelsea face Arsenal in Baku on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old has not played since May 5 when he hobbled off in the Premier League win over Watford with a hamstring injury.

Kante, even though he has played in a slightly different role this season for the Blues, remains a massively important part of their success and it will be vital to have him back with the rest of the team.

There was some positive news, however, with Sarri confirming that Kante, who scored four Premier League goals last season, had been taking part in some training.

However, there was obviously some bad news on the side of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

"Of course we are trying to recover Kante," Sarri said. "He had a part of the training yesterday with the group, so we are optimistic.

"I think he will be able to play the final.

"Rudiger no chance. No, Rudiger and Loftus-Cheek and Callum are all out.

"The only one we can recover is Kante."
