Mauricio Pochettino warns Tottenham stars, Cardiff will be a dangerous test after Wolves defeat

Mauricio Pochettino has warned his Tottenham side face a tough test in order to get back to winning ways in 2019.

A run of eight wins from nine games was brought to a halt when Spurs conceded three goals in the last eighteen minutes against Wolves at Wembley, throwing away a first half lead taken through a stunning Harry Kane goal.

Having cooled talk of a Premier League title challenge before the Wolves loss, Pochettino must now fire his players up to get back in the mix when they visit Cardiff on New Year’s Day.

"It is a tough team to play against. I think it is going to be difficult of course, their physicality make them a very dangerous team,” Pochettino said.

“They have some quality players and I think it is going to be a massive test for us to go to Cardiff to create and build a positive run again."

Spurs have faced one of the tougher festive runs in the Premier League this season and now enter January knowing they could play as many as nine games in one month, so Pochettino will need his entire squad to get through.

"Will we make changes? Yes of course but it is more collective than two, three or four players,” the Spurs boss added.

“I think it sometimes happens [that you lose], now it is the time to breathe to try to recover. Of course, we are going to do some changes as always and try to add some energy to the team.”
